Project management, in partnership with Sourcecom Technology Solutions,
for the Sahara Consortium for GautengOnline, a Gauteng
Province (South Africa) initiative to connect all 2500 provincial schools to the Internet
* Logistics and deployment management for Mindset
TV, an
interactive and digital educational broadcast network piloted in
October 2003. This 12-hour per day broadcast channel is largely funded by The
Liberty Foundation.This work led to the
appointment of DireqLearn SA as the sole logistics partner for
Mindset, in the distribution and support of all equipment,
technical and educational training, and interactive support
through community workers known as Mindsetters. Mindset is the most significant
ICT in Education intervention in South Africa at present, aiming at reaching
over 1000 schools in year one.
* DireqLearn Nigeria is currently managing and implementing a
35-school ICT in education intervention in 7 states throughout
Nigeria. This is the largest initiative of its type in Nigeria, and will start
the process of getting Nigerian schools online and using the technology to enhance teaching and learning. This
turn-key project is being implemented for the Nigerian Education
Tax Fund and SchoolNet Nigeria.

* Feasibility
for the establishment of Pacific Islands SchoolNet,
undertaken for the Commonwealth of Learning, based in Vancouver, Canada.
* Business planning for SchoolNet Nigeria undertaken for the
Nigerian Education Tax Fund
* Specialised consulting for SchoolNet
Africa and UNESCO, entitled ICTs for
Special Needs Education. This has resulted in the Principal Consultant being
identified as a World Specialist in this field by UNESCO.
* Overseeing and acting as critical reader and Mentor for a
SchoolNet Africa-commissioned research paper on the Use of Older Refurbished Computers in Developing Countries.
